# Translation A little more than three months have passed since February 17, when the Santiago Court of Appeals rejected the removal of immunity against the governor of the Metropolitan Region, Claudio Orrego, in the context of the ProCultura case. Following the unanimous decision by the full panel of the appellate court—in an emblematic vote of 24 votes against 0—the Public Ministry was prevented from continuing the case and formalizing charges against the regional authority, whom the prosecuting entity sought to charge with fraud against the State Treasury following the agreement reached between the ProCultura Foundation and the Metropolitan Regional Government to carry out the suicide prevention program "Quédate." As a result of that Santiago Court ruling, Governor Orrego's defense seeks to close the criminal chapter against the authority. For this reason, his defenders—attorneys Ciro Colombara and Aldo Díaz—submitted a request several weeks ago asking for the dismissal of the regional authority before the Seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago.
