The Head of State, Felix Tshisekedi expressed, Saturday, June 29, his determination to defend the national territory and restore peace in the east of the DRC, plagued by M23 rebels and other militiamen. He said it in his speech broadcast on the national channel (RTNC) on the sidelines of the 64th anniversary of the DRC's accession to independence: "What is happening in Kanyabayonga, Kayina, the southern villages of Lubero as well as in the territories of Rutshuru, Nyirangongo and Masisi constitutes a blatant aggression against our national sovereignty and the peace of our people.
