In the coming years, hundreds of villages in sparsely populated areas will lose their road lighting, according to the Swedish Transport Administration's strategy. In Albacken in Jämtland, the 22 lighting posts are to be taken down – the light is better needed elsewhere, according to the Swedish Transport Administration. Now the villagers are struggling to keep the lighting along the narrow busy road.
