The critical financial situation of Air-e continues to escalate and generate concern among the country's thermal plants. The president of the National Association of Generating Companies (Andeg), Alejandro Castañeda, confirmed that the total debt currently amounts to $2.3 billion and would reach $3 billion at the end of 2026. Of that amount, about $1.5 billion corresponds to obligations with thermal plants, one of the key segments to guarantee the electricity supply in Colombia, especially during periods of high demand or climatic phenomena such as El Niño.
