Under the resolution, while reaffirming its commitment to Afghanistan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, UNAMA is tasked with coordinating and facilitating humanitarian assistance, mediating UN-led meetings on Afghanistan, facilitating dialogue between Afghan authorities and regional and international stakeholders, and engaging with all relevant actors at both national and local levels, including civil society. China’s representative to the Security Council, Fu Cong, said: “This resolution reflects the international community’s expectation that Afghanistan will reintegrate into the international community.
