The Chinese authorities are extensively updating the world's largest video surveillance network, introducing artificial intelligence technologies that allow you to automatically track people, analyze their behavior and predict possible incidents in real time. According to the Financial Times, after studying more than a dozen procurement documents and communicating with market participants, local administrations across the country are deploying AI systems as part of Beijing's course on the so-called "predictive police". The modernization was the largest step in recent years to update the surveillance infrastructure, which was built about a decade ago and is already actively used to monitor the population, combat street crime and control the stability of the regime.
