The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCC&I) and the Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association (KHAROA) on Tuesday lauded the Jammu and Kashmir government and multiple agencies for the prompt and coordinated rescue of more than 300 tourists stranded following a technical disruption in the Gulmarg Gondola cable car service. More than 300 tourists were stranded in 65 gondola cabins after a technical snag halted operations, leaving several passengers suspended mid-air for hours, with some cabins reportedly positioned nearly 500 feet above the ground. Despite adverse weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, a large-scale rescue operation lasting several hours was launched to safely evacuate all stranded passengers.
