Leader of Opposition (LoP) in J&K Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma on Friday, in his fresh two-pronged offensive against the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, described his (CM’s) recent meeting with the Prime Minister in the union capital to greet him (PM) and seek statehood as “an indirect endorsement of Art 370 abrogation and Centre’s other policies.” Sunil Sharma also asserted that the National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah’s changed stance vis-à-vis not inviting any political party (from J&K) to join party legislators’ proposed protest at Jantar Mantar was “NC’s climbdown from Article 370 to statehood - on a day the Chief Minister met the Prime Minister.” Amid these digs, he reiterated his prophecy of “inevitable fall of the NC-led government in J&K on its own” yet refused to specify any “timeline.” He, however, hastened to add - neither the BJP will engineer NC-government’s collapse nor it will form government thereafter. LoP was responding to queries during a media interaction at Jammu Club on “12 Saal Bemisal”, a special programme organised by J&K BJP to “mark the successful completion of 12 years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government.” He asserted that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to greet him on successful completion of 12 years of his government was an in-direct endorsement of central government’s policies. “We’re glad that the first person from J&K who personally met the Prime Minister and greeted him on his achievements during 12 years - was the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
