Residents in Richland County, Ohio voted narrowly on Tuesday to maintain an existing ban on utility-scale solar and wind farms across much of the county, with 53% voting in favor of the restriction. The result disappointed renewable energy advocates who had hoped a vote to overturn the ban could demonstrate a pathway for removing similar local obstacles to wind and solar development across the United States.
