The International Criminal Court held a second preliminary hearing on Wednesday for Khalid Al-Hishri, former head of the women's ward at Mitiga prison in Libya, who faces charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes. Prosecutors detailed allegations of rape, torture, persecution, and slavery targeting detainees and migrants between 2014 and 2020, and called for the case to proceed to trial.

The appeal trial of Nicolas Sarkozy on charges of illegal campaign financing from Libya concluded Wednesday after 11 weeks of hearings. Prosecutors are seeking a 7-year prison sentence; Sarkozy, who was convicted to 5 years at first instance and has served 20 days, made closing arguments through four defense lawyers.
