At least 131 people have died and more than 513 are suspected to have been infected in an outbreak of an unusual variant of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Now, the spread of Ebola is classified as an international health threat – and a meeting with the who's emergency committee is planned for Tuesday. Britain has committed £20 million ($26.87 million) in new aid funding to help contain an Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. As of Wednesday, the outbreak had reached 600 suspected cases and 139 suspected deaths, with 51 cases confirmed by laboratory testing.
