# Translation The patience of tenants in Spain reached its limit and this was demonstrated this weekend, when a massive mobilization day, at least 23,000 people according to Government Delegation figures and up to 100,000 according to organizers, overflowed the main streets of Madrid. Convened by the Madrid Tenants' Union and backed by a broad front of labor, neighborhood, feminist, and environmental organizations, the march proceeded under one slogan: "Housing is costing us our lives. Let's lower the prices." This massive protest is the beginning of a "wave of mobilizations" that will extend throughout June across 24 Spanish cities, including critical hotspots of real estate pressure such as Barcelona, Valencia, Málaga, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
