The Union Ministry of Culture has advised the concerned implementing agencies in Jammu & Kashmir to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and other requisite documents for the proposed auditoriums at Bandipora, Baramulla, Beerwah and Kupwara, following the intervention of Member of Parliament Er Rashid, who had raised the issue with the Union Finance Minister seeking financial assistance for these important cultural infrastructure projects. Sharing details of the communication received from the Ministry of Culture, AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said that Er Rashid, in his letter addressed to the Union Finance Minister, had sought financial assistance for the construction of auditoriums in Bandipora, Baramulla, Beerwah and Kupwara, besides release of funds for completion and finishing works of the already constructed auditorium at Hangah, Handwara. The Ministry, in its response, informed the MP Er Rashid that the issues raised by him have been examined and that the scheme "Financial Assistance for Creation of Tagore Cultural Complexes (TCCs)" is undergoing a revamp, while a new scheme comprising infrastructure-related components, including Tagore Cultural Complexes, is presently under finalisation.
