Dong Guangping, a former Chinese police officer jailed for opposing the Communist Party, was discovered drifting in a small rubber boat off South Korea's west coast.

Dong Guangping, a Chinese human rights activist and Tiananmen Square dissident, successfully fled to South Korea by inflatable boat on May 25th after a 30-hour journey. The escape marks his fourth attempted departure from China; South Korean authorities are now investigating whether he will be granted asylum.
