Gov. Jim Pillen joined Nebraska business leaders in supporting a proposed merger between Omaha-based Union Pacific and Atlanta-based Norfolk Southern railroads. The companies filed an amended merger application with the U.S. Surface Transportation Board after an earlier application was rejected as incomplete in January.
