The Srinagar–Jammu National Highway (NH-44), the only all-weather road link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country, remained open for two-way traffic on Monday, bringing relief to commuters and transporters travelling between the Kashmir Valley and the Jammu region. Traffic authorities said that, subject to favourable weather and road conditions, the highway is likely to remain open for two-way traffic on Tuesday as well. However, vehicular movement continued to be slow at several locations along the Ramban–Banihal stretch due to single-lane sections, ongoing road repairs, and highway widening and construction works.
