In a preparedness exercise ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra, Srinagar Police on Sunday conducted a large-scale multi-agency mock drill across strategic locations in the Parimpora and Maloora areas of the city to assess emergency response capabilities and strengthen inter-agency coordination. The exercise, organised in collaboration with the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Fire and Emergency Services, Health Department, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Traffic Police, Ambulance Services and the Civil Administration, was aimed at evaluating operational readiness, testing communication systems and ensuring a coordinated response to any emergency that may arise during the pilgrimage. Officials said the drill formed part of the security and disaster management preparations for the annual Amarnath Yatra, which attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from across the country and requires extensive security and logistical arrangements.
