Kashmiri Pandit community members, speaking at a press conference following the conclusion of a week-long heritage tour and the two-day international conference ‘Pragaash’ at SKICC, voiced a deep yearning to reconnect with their roots and return to their homeland. Participants said the tour, which included visits to temples, ashrams and cultural sites across Kashmir, was aimed at familiarising younger generations with their heritage amid concerns over preserving the community’s identity. Speakers called for concrete measures to facilitate the return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, including the development of a township around Rainawari and greater investment in Kashmir by members of the community.
