Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday launched ‘Project Ganga’, a major initiative aimed at expanding high-speed broadband connectivity in rural areas, promoting digital inclusion, and generating employment opportunities for youth. The project seeks to provide broadband access to around 20 lakh families, train between 8,000 and 10,000 Digital Service Providers (DSPs), and create more than one lakh direct and indirect jobs. In the first phase, the scheme will cover 21 districts across the state.
