Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, in a post on X, said that it is was a welcome development that the Delhi High Court has granted bail to human rights activist Khurram Parvez after years of incarceration and suffering endured by him and his family. Mirwaiz observed that when individuals, despite being granted bail by the courts, are re-arrested in other cases so that they continue to remain in jail, it defies the purpose of justice. Referring to the case of Shabir Ahmad Shah, he said such practices undermine the spirit of judicial relief and expressed hope that this practice is not followed in the case of Khurram Parvez.
