At least 10 labourers were injured, one of them critically, after a freshly completed bridge on the under-construction Baramulla bypass road at Cheradari collapsed, prompting the district administration to order a special inquiry and promise strict action against those found responsible. The incident occurred during the night when labourers were engaged in work on the bridge. According to eyewitnesses, the middle slab portion of the small bridge suddenly gave way, causing several workers to fall and sustain injuries.
