Japanese authorities have reported that a 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck off the eastern coast of the Tohoku region in northeastern Japan. However, no tsunami warning has been issued. The Japan Meteorological Agency said early Thursday, June 25, that the earthquake’s epicenter was located near the coast of Iwate Prefecture at a depth of approximately 50 kilometers.
