Srinagar, Jun 14: In a significant development, the J&K government has pitched for the revival of closed B.Ed colleges in the J&K UT and urged the Union Ministry of Education to grant a one-time relaxation to affected institutions to help them meet regulatory requirements. In an exclusive conversation with Greater Kashmir , Minister for education Sakina Itoo said the issue of B.Ed colleges was the main agenda during her recent meeting with Secretary education in Ministry of Education, New Delhi. Sakina Itoo said a large number of B.Ed colleges in J&K have remained shut for the past many years due to compliance issues arising from regulations framed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
