New Delhi, Jun 12: US President Donald Trump claimed that an agreement to end the conflict with Iran was close, saying the two sides had reached a “great settlement” after months of military escalation, though Tehran insisted that no final deal had been concluded. According to a BBC report, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, “We just made a great settlement of the war with Iran,” and expressed confidence that an agreement preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon would be signed soon. “We have a deal that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, which was the whole purpose of what we had to go through to get this,” Trump said, adding that there would “probably be a signing, maybe in Europe” once the documents were finalised.
