<p>Shantis Johnson gently grabs her round belly, bulging with twins due in August, and wishes she could deliver them at West Suburban Medical Center, where her other children were born.</p><p>“Once you know home, it’s home,” says Johnson, 38. “West Suburban was home to me.”</p><p>She lives in the same house where she grew up in Chicago’s Austin community, about three miles from West Suburban in Oak Park, which closed in late March. She and her children were frequent visitors to the emergency department and walk-in clinic.
