J&K Congress has asked the national President of BJP Nitin Nabin to explain the delay in restoration of statehood and the silence of his party MPs, MLAs from J&K over the repeated commitment with the people of J&K. “It's nearly two years that an assembly election was held and an elected government took over but BJP government has gone silent over the issue after BJP failed to get a majority,” said a press release. The Congress party has been spearheading the movement for the restoration of statehood since November 2024 and held continuous protests across UT including at Jantar Mantar but the ruling BJP remained silent over the most popular demand of the entire population of J&K.
