Srinagar, June 25: In a significant step towards strengthening solid waste management in rural areas, the Rural Sanitation Kashmir is likely to launch a door-to-door waste collection service across villages in the Valley from October this year. Officials said the initiative is part of the broader implementation of Solid Waste Management Rules and aims to improve waste collection, segregation, and disposal mechanisms at the grassroots level. A senior official of Rural Sanitation Kashmir said that waste collection vehicles have already been provided to all Block Development Offices (BDOs) across the Valley to facilitate the upcoming service.
