Oil production in Kazakhstan has sharply declined following the closure of the Black Sea terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), the main export route for Kazakhstani oil, which was previously targeted by drone attacks. Production fell most sharply at the country's largest oil field, Tengiz, operated by a consortium led by American Chevron. Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry confirmed the reduction in oil production volumes, stating that loading operations at the CPC sea terminal were temporarily suspended. The CPC, which accounts for more than 80% of Kazakhstan's oil exports, suspended loading due to attacks on tankers at its terminal on Russia's Black Sea coast. Drones attacked the CPC sea terminal near Novorossiysk and two tankers on July 19, an incident the consortium called a 'terrorist attack'.
