Rajouri, Jun 12: The alarming situation of forest fires in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir continues unabated, with several fresh incidents reported during the last 24 hours. In the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, a massive forest fire that erupted in the Sawni forest area spread further and entered the Bathuni forest near Rajouri town, creating a serious threat to the surrounding areas. Amid dry forest conditions, the flames spread rapidly and engulfed a vast stretch of Bathuni forest within a short span of time.
