Says restrictions hurting adventure tourism, seeks LG’s intervention Srinagar, June 24: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday urged the administration to lift restrictions on trekking, hiking and camping activities along high-altitude routes in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the curbs are affecting adventure tourism and impacting livelihoods. In a statement, Bukhari appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to consider revoking the ban in the interest of the tourism sector and local communities dependent on it. He said the restrictions have limited the region’s adventure tourism potential and affected hundreds of local youth who work as trekking guides and support staff.
