In a remarkable achievement in emergency minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Imran Abdullah Khan, along with the anaesthesia team headed by Dr Showkat Dar at Noora Hospital, successfully performed a life-saving emergency laparoscopic repair of an incarcerated left diaphragmatic hernia with gastric volvulus and impending gangrene—an exceptionally rare and highly challenging surgical emergency. As per a press release issued by the hospital, the patient was admitted in critical condition after multiple abdominal organs had migrated into the left side of the chest through a diaphragmatic defect.
