Srinagar, Jul 1: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdi on Wednesday undertook a comprehensive on-site review of security arrangements in Pahalgam, a key base camp and gateway along the traditional route. Accompanied by senior officers including DIG South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo, DIG Yatra Sameer Sharma, SSP AnantnagAmod Ashok Nagpure, and other J&K Police officials, the IGP inspected critical security infrastructure and engaged directly with ground personnel to ensure foolproof arrangements for the 57-day pilgrimage expected to draw lakhs of devotees. At the X-ray Screening Point, IGP Birdi examined passenger and baggage screening protocols in detail.
