Srinagar, Jun 14: Amid mounting traffic congestion across Srinagar, the growing presence of stray cattle, including abandoned cows and horses on roads has emerged as another major challenge for commuters, raising concerns over road safety as well as animal welfare. From the busy Downtown localities to the city's uptown areas and outskirts, stray cows, horses and other animals can frequently be seen wandering along roads, occupying traffic lanes and feeding on garbage dumps. Commuters say the situation has become increasingly hazardous, often resulting in traffic disruptions and accidents.
