Srinagar, Jun 26: Director General of Police (DGP) NalinPrabhat personally monitored the Ashura processions in Srinagar on Friday, joining senior officers to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of Muharram commemorations across the city. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdi, DIG Central Kashmir Rajiv Pandey, SSP Srinagar G V Sundeep Chakraborty, and other officials were also actively involved in overseeing arrangements, reflecting the high priority given to facilitating religious observances while maintaining public order. The participation of top police leadership came as thousands of Shia mourners observed Youm-e-Ashura , the 10th day of Muharram, with solemn processions, Noha recitations, and tributes to the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at Karbala.
