Security agencies have significantly strengthened security arrangements along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH-44) and key routes leading to the holy Amarnath cave shrine as preparations gather pace for the annual Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28. The 57-day pilgrimage is expected to attract lakhs of devotees from across the country, prompting authorities to put in place a comprehensive multi-layered security mechanism. The security grid comprises personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
