Sweden is donating 16 older JF-17 Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine and supporting Ukraine's purchase of 20 additional new Gripen aircraft, Swedish officials announced at a press conference in Uppsala attended by President Volodymyr Zelenskyj.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj traveled to Uppsala, Sweden on Thursday to receive a donation of Gripen C/D fighter jets from the Swedish government. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Defense Minister Pål Jonsson hosted the visit, with a press conference scheduled to announce details of the aircraft transfer.
