Afghanistan's national power company DABS announced contracts for 17 electricity generation projects targeting 1,820 megawatts of combined capacity, with most expected to come online this year. The projects, drawing on hydropower, wind, solar, and coal resources, aim to reduce Afghanistan's substantial dependence on imported electricity and address long-standing supply deficits.
