A Turkish court ruled that Canan Kaftancıoğlu, former Istanbul Provincial Chairman of the opposition CHP party, must attend mandatory hearings in her trial on charges of insulting President Erdoğan. The hearing was rescheduled to September 15 after her initial absence.
