Colombia launched a reparations fund to support journalists and women in communications who are victims of gender-based violence, with initial funding of $500,000. The initiative followed a 26-year campaign by journalist Jineth Bedoya Lima, whose 2000 assault led to an Inter-American Court ruling holding the Colombian State responsible for inadequate protection and investigation.
