Yes. No credit card required. OpenWatch Observer gives you live global threat intelligence at no cost. We plan to keep a meaningful free tier permanently.
What counts as a "signal"?
A signal is a single intelligence item — a news report, social media post, official advisory, satellite observation, or data point that has been enriched with threat classification, geocoding, and significance scoring.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Analyst is month-to-month with no lock-in. Cancel from your account settings and your access continues until the end of the billing period.
What data sources does OpenWatch cover?
Over 1,200 active sources across 45+ languages: RSS feeds, government advisories (GDACS, WHO, FEWS NET, NVD), structured event databases, financial market feeds, and more. See the Sources page for a full breakdown.
Do you have a student or research discount?

Is there an API for the free tier?
Yes. Anyone can request a free API key at /developer — it gives you 100 requests/hour with access to the full signal stream. Higher rate limits (2,000 req/hour) and outbound webhooks require Developer Pro.
How do webhooks work?
Register an HTTPS endpoint via the API and we'll POST matching signals to it within seconds of ingestion — no polling required. You can filter by threat layer, country, severity score, and signal valence. Payloads are optionally signed with HMAC-SHA256.
