In Åre municipality, property owners pay annual fees for the supervision of rental apartments – even when no supervision is actually carried out. "They took payment even though they were not even let in by the tenant," says Hans-Christer Humble, who this year received over SEK 117,000 in invoices from the municipality. No other municipality in the county works like this.
