The Israeli ambassador to the United Nations announced Thursday a freeze in Israel's relations with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, condemning a decision that has not yet been formally announced to place Israel on a blacklist related to sexual violence in conflicts. Danny Danon said in a video message posted on X platform: "We are done with this secretary-general." The Israeli mission clarified that this decision means a freeze in its relations with the office of the secretary-general until the end of António Guterres' term on December 31, 2026. For his part, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oren Marmorstein posted on X that the UN's shameful and absurd decision to include Israeli entities in an annex to the report on sexual violence related to conflicts is further evidence of the true nature of the United Nations: a politicized and corrupt organization that has abandoned its founding principles and systematically targets Israel as its primary mission.
