The European Union imposed sanctions on four entities and three individuals for alleged abuses against Palestinians in the West Bank, including what it described as extremist Israeli settlers and their supporting organizations. The EU simultaneously broadened its existing sanctions on Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad to include members of Hamas's Political Bureau involved in promoting or defending violence.
