<p>NEW YORK – The series-opening game between the <a class="Link" href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/cubs" >Cubs</a> and Mets was washed away by rain Monday night.</p><p>A soggy night in the Big Apple meant no contest between the two teams, who will now play four games in three days, with a doubleheader set for Wednesday. Game 1 will start at 12:10 p.m. Central, and Game 2 will begin at 6:10 Central.</p><p>The Cubs were forced into back-to-back unscheduled days off after Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays at Wrigley Field <a class="Link" href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/cubs/2026/06/21/blue-jays-cubs-fathers-day-game-rained-out-rescheduled-for-aug-6" >was rained out</a>.</p>
