In June, a letter was published by a photographer who advocated for building a gas pipeline in Alaska (“After 40 years of waiting, it’s time to build the line,” June 18). As a young person who has lived here all my life, left for higher education and chosen to return to serve my community, I am appalled by the suggestion that this is the right decision for our state. When I was a child, I believed that people who think these projects are beneficial simply saw things differently than I did, but still wanted the best for our community.
