Although Latvia still lacks a national museum of contemporary art, in recent years several ambitious contemporary art events have made themselves known in Rīga's cultural landscape - at the end of May, the second Riga Art Week took place, and on July 2nd, the second Riga Contemporary Art Fair "Riga Contemporary" will open its doors.
