<p>Warren's Jaxson Davis, the <a class="Link" href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/high-school-basketball/2026/02/27/jaxson-davis-warren-chicago-sun-times-player-of-the-year" >2026 Sun-Times Player of the Year</a>, is transferring to a prep school for his senior year. </p><p>Davis led the Blue Devils to 87 wins over the past three seasons, including a Class 4A state runner-up finish in 2025.</p><p>The junior point guard savant is a three-time<a class="Link" href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/high-school-basketball/2026/02/27/chicago-sun-times-all-area-boys-basketball-team-2026" > All-Area </a>selection.</p><p>He was on the verge of becoming the all-time leading scorer in Lake County history with an outside shot of reaching a scoring milestone few in state history have ever reached: 3,000 career points.</p><p>But the final chapter in what was becoming a pretty illustrious high school career won't be written.</p><p>Davis intends to play at a new school, Monarch Academy in Kansas City.</p><p>"It is with great excitement, yet mixed emotions, that I announce my commitment to spend my senior year at Monarch Academy," Davis said in a statement. "My goal has always been to challenge myself, continue growing, and become the best player I can be."</p><p>Davis’ other basketball experiences, including trying out for USA Basketball and playing with Meanstreets on Nike’s EYBL circuit, gave him a glimpse of where he needed to be as a player.
