The Museum of Image and Sound (MIS) in Rio de Janeiro has partially reopened with an inaugural exhibition showcasing the building's architectural history and construction process. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and located on Copacabana's Avenida Atlântica, the museum faced multiple delays since its 2008 inception, including work stoppages during Rio's 2016 fiscal crisis. Full completion is expected in early 2027, with future galleries dedicated to Brazilian music, photography, Carmen Miranda's legacy, and local cultural heritage.
