# Translation Colombians will go to the polls this Sunday, May 31st to elect the president and vice president of the Republic for the 2026-2030 term, in an event that will be accompanied by special security and public order measures throughout the country. In Medellín, as well as in the rest of Colombia's cities, the traditional dry law will begin to take effect from Saturday afternoon, May 30th, a restriction that seeks to prevent public order disruptions during voting and the counting process. According to Decree 0188 of 2026 issued by the Ministry of Interior, the dry law will begin at 6:00 p.m.
