Eid al-Adha transcends its religious and spiritual dimensions among the Druze monotheists, extending into cultural and social spheres that reflect the identity of this community residing in Mount Lebanon. Religious Symbolism The festival day is preceded by ten nights, called the Ten Nights among the Druze monotheists, during which sheikhs and sheikhettes proceed to religious councils and shrines to perform prayers each night. Many do not know that the Druze monotheists fast during this period.
